Giornata Europea delle lingue
ONE MOTHER/MANY TONGUES
The European Day of Languages is an established annual event, born out of the enthusiasm by which it was celebrated in 2001 (the European Year of Languages) and the need to continue to develop language capability across Europe. The European Day of Languages aims to draw the public’s attention to the importance of language learning, raise awareness of all the languages spoken in Europe and encourage lifelong language learning.
The students exchange their opinions about the importance of languages in a cosmopolitan world. They show billboards focused on a variety of proverbs expressing the priceless richness of any cultural and linguistic heritage. The reading of some extracts of the CDFUE (Carta dei Diritti fondamentali dell’Unione Europea) is meant to underline the value of a Charter that protect the rights of everybody, with particular reference to the language minority.
The participating classes are: 2 An, 4 An, 2 Bn, 2 Cn, 2 Dn, 2 Bs, 3 Cl, 2 Gsu, 5 Cl, 2 Cl
